We have seen this before, presumably it is something to do with CH protocols. I would surmise, although I do not actually know, that they send the notice to the Gazette a week in advance of intended publication, at the same time they send a notice to the company giving them a week to rectify the default, or at least contact the Registrar of Companies.

As publication in the Gazette used to be the first trigger for the freezing of the bank accounts, all banks monitor the Gazette for insolvency notices affecting their customers, it gives them an opportunity to avoid embarrassment; however as it is now possible to monitor CH filings in real time the trigger might have been brought forward.

Probably not - as dualinvestor alludes to we've seen this sort of thing before, most notably with Lendy. It is however sloppy. If they can't file their accounts on time, can they register charges properly, or the rest of the admin that asset backed loans require?
